Trial for Admitted Serial Killer Begins In Winnipeg Courts May 8th

As we touched on in a few of our episodes, Winnipeg police say Morgan Harris, Marcedes Myran, Rebecca Contois and a fourth unidentified woman the community has named Mashkode Bizhiki'ikwe, or Buffalo Woman, were all the victims of self-admitted serial killer, Jeremy Skibicki. Skibicki, 35, is charged with four counts of first-degree murder. . A representative for Skibicki stated that his client, although admitting and confessing to his crimes, would plead not guilty.

On Wednesday May 8th the trial of the admitted serial killer started. The court is hearing details of the exhaustive search to find the remains of his victims. He says officers looked for days and covered more than a hectare of the landfill in the summer of 2022 before they found partial remains of the woman. Skibicki’s lawyers have told court that he admits to the killings but is not criminally responsible due to mental illness.

Court has heard that DNA from three of the victims as well as some of their belongings were found in Skibicki’s apartment. Crown prosecutors say the killings were racially motivated, with Skibicki a self-proclaimed white supremacist who preyed on the vulnerable women at homeless shelters.

The Trial will be heard by a judge only, since the Crown says it no longer has to prove Skibicki caused the women's deaths (because he admitted it.. automatic Life with no parole? No? not in this country?)

We know this guy is a sick FUCK, as he has proclaimed this himself. What do we need to do to keep Indiginous women safe in our country ?

We at MWMM hope this guy gets the worst sentence that is allowed in this country.. as you all know how we feel about ‘Harsh’ sentences in this country.. but can we make an exception and bring the death penalty back?

We will definitley keep you guys posted on the details of the trial as they emerge.
