At least 1 killed in shooting at Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl celebration

Unfortunately, here we are bringing you another story of a much earned celebration in the U.S turning into a horrible and unthinkable act of gun violence.

At least one person was killed and as many as 15 others injured in a shooting in Kansas City, Missouri, after a rally Wednesday celebrating the Chiefs Super Bowl victory, authorities said.

Of the injured, three were in critical condition, five were in serious condition and one person had non-life-threatening injuries, Kansas City Fire Department Battalion Chief Michael Hopkins said.

Two people were detained after the shooting near a garage west of Union Station, the Kansas City Police Department said in a statement.

The department did not identify suspects. The shooting appears to be criminal in nature and not terrorism, according to a preliminary investigation, three law enforcement officials briefed on the incident said.

Thousands of people had gathered in downtown Kansas City for a celebratory parade and rally at Union Station after the Chiefs' Super Bowl win on Sunday, and it is sad to see that not even this is a safe event.

As we know, the United States is the centerfold for many celebrations gone awry due to Gun violence. What can they do to make things safer for the people who live in this country? Gun Reform? Its overwhelming to think how they would even get started. The way America feels about guns, and the way they feel about them getting into the wrong hands is probably at par. The mental health of so many people is at an all time decline due to the recent experiences we have had collectively.. and to put it in perspective, the population of California is roughly the same population as the whole country of Canada. So how do we start to keep Americans and those at celebrations safe from unknown threats? I remember going to CrimeCon in September of last year with mom, and not feeling safe even going into the Walgreens. Crimecon was such a large event, that i experienced some anxious thoughts even at the thought of being somewhere that turned out to be safe. How do Americans feel safe going anywhere in large crowds? Celebrations and large crowds are one thing, but even leaving your home can sometimes prove deadly if you come into contact with a mentally unstable person wielding a gun..

We are sending our thoughts to Kansas City and everyone that been affected in the midst of this horrible crime
